 Meaning

Mental health refers to a state of emotional, psychological, and social well-being in which an individual:

  • Realizes their abilities
  • Can cope with normal stresses of life
  • Works productively
  • Contributes positively to society

Well-being goes beyond the absence of illness and includes positive emotions, life satisfaction, resilience, and healthy functioning.
